Conceptual fine arts explored the 46 large scale paintings from the XVII century currently on exhibition at the Accademia di Brera in Milan (until January, 16th<\/sup>). Due to the lack of space in the galleries, most of these artwroks are normally preserved in storage. An extension of the museum has been planned since the eighties, but the city is still wating for it and unfortunately nobody knows when the sadly famous project called \u201cLa Grande Brera\u201d will effecitvely start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, this show gives the public a rare opportunity to have a look at a remarkable collection of paintings, and to go trough their fascinating history, which coincides with the history of Milan and its area of influence, minutely recontructed by the art historians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheles, history is not the only way to read an artwork. That’s why we attended the show with a contemporary artist, Luca Trevisani<\/a>, looking for new perspectives to observe this group of images, forms, and objects. The result is a photo gallery of details, which discloses formal elements, most of the time completly detached from the whole of the image, therefore deeply \u201casbstracted\u201d and indipendent. Our feeling during the visit was that the contemporary artist was looking for his own references inside the images, unconsciusly creating a show into the show. Who knows Luca Trevisani will certainly recognize in the details he picked elements of his own work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
