Andrea Palladio deserves more than a name dropping show

After an accurate project of restoration started in 2007, the famous Basilica by Andrea Palladio in Vicenza has been recently re-opened to the visitors. The monument is now a must visit in norther Italy. The problem lies in the program of blockbuster exhibitions, or tourist trap, the council has chosen to promote, which strongly contrasts with the high cultural value of the monument. The next one is taking place in February 2014 and seems to be a ridiculous jumble of works, with a tricky title: Towards Monet, story of landscape paintings from 17th to 20th century. When will italian politicians understand the difference between culture and entertainment?
